Backend services for control and automation software

Logic4Controls operates the API layer for deployed control applications — from operator panels to scheduling services — providing database access, usage metrics, and license validation across Windows and Linux environments.

1Service Register

ServiceFunction
Service Database AccessControl applications retrieve recipes, device mappings, and tenant configuration from the service database through authenticated, TLS-encrypted endpoints with per-deployment scoping. Responses are versioned; writes are idempotent, so panel software retries safely after power cycles.
Usage Metrics CollectionA batched metrics API receives application usage events and aggregates them into operational statistics for the deploying organization. Typical load: a few kilobytes per installation per day — compatible with metered industrial links.
License ValidationSigned license verification responses cover entitlements, expirations, seat limits, and offline grace periods for field deployments. Raw keys never traverse the network; every validation is written to an exportable audit log.

2Operating Sequence

StepPhaseDescription
01CommissioningInstallation presents its license credential; platform issues deployment identity and API tokens.
02ConfigurationApplication pulls recipes and device mappings; subscribes to centrally managed updates.
03OperationSteady-state database access plus scheduled batched metrics uploads.
04AttestationScheduled license re-validation; audit trail available for compliance export.

4Frequently Asked Questions

Does the platform fit an allowlist-only industrial firewall?

Yes. All traffic is outbound HTTPS to a documented, fixed set of hostnames; a static IP option reduces the rule to a single entry.

What happens during a network outage at a site?

Applications continue on cached configuration and the license grace window; metrics queue locally and flush when connectivity is restored.

Is any process or production data exposed?

The platform carries configuration records and usage counters for the software itself, keyed by deployment — not plant process data. See the Privacy Policy for the full inventory.

Who can see our organization's metrics?

Only your organization. Data is tenant-scoped end to end and processed solely to provide the contracted service.
